Monday’s Premier League Round of 13 will feature a mid-table showdown between Fulham and Wolves. While the home side are going down with form, the visitors have managed to pick themselves up after a poor start.
Fulham have stuck around after a decent start to the season, picking up a single point from the past four rounds and getting dangerously close to the relegation zone. Before the start of round 13, they were seven points clear of the last three from 15th place.
Wolves are the opposite, a pleasant surprise of the season. Even last round, without injured mainstay Pedro Neto, they won against Tottenham and went into Round 13 from 13th place. A comfortable ten point lead on the relegation zone.
Fulham’s key figures
There is a lot of interest in Joao Palhinha on the market, the Portuguese international is excellent going forward. Between the three poles, Bernd Leno, still one of the best goalkeepers in the competition, keeps the team afloat.
Wolves’ key figures
Hee-chan Hwang is rising in the visitors’ jersey, the Korean hitman has already struck seven times and assisted twice. Matheus Cunha has to work in Neto’s absence, the Brazilian technician is on two goals and assists so far.
Preview
Fulham are extremely struggling in attack after the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic, with ten goals they have the second worst attack in the Premier League after Burnley. They have scored more than once in just one of their last five games.
Wolves, on the other hand, did very well last round even without Neto, and this time they are facing a weaker opponent. Even given the good performance against Spurs, I see this as a no-lose game for the visitors from the West Midlands.
At the same time, given Fulham’s weak attack and the absence of Neto, which will weaken Wolves’ offense in some way, I expect that we won’t see many goals.
