It’s not easy to score 50 goals in the Premier League. Many strikers have failed to do it in their careers. However, Erling Haaland is a complete anomaly and has reached the 50 goal mark in England’s top competition in record time.

As already mentioned, he only needed 48 games to achieve this. He is the first ever to reach the 50-goal mark with fewer games played than goals scored.

Until now, the fastest 50-goal scorer was Andy Cole, who scored goals at Newcastle or Manchester United, with whom he won the legendary treble in 1999. Cole needed 65 games to score 50 goals. He set the record in 1995.

Haaland then leaves behind stars like Ruud van Nistelrooy, Fernando Torres and Mohamed Salah, who together with him form the fastest five to reach the 50-goal mark.

It’s worth noting that according to OptaJoe, the Norwegian has hit against 20 of a possible 21 opponents. He hasn’t scored so far only in Brentford’s net.
