Although he didn’t win, he will return home without a title, yet he remains the champion. Jiri Prochazka spoke to the public for the first time since his loss to Alex Pereira. Once again he showed character and proved that he is a true professional.

On the night of Saturday to Sunday, the UFC 295 gala took place and Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira fought in the main event. Every true combat sports fan was looking forward to this fight, as well as almost the entire territory of Czechoslovakia.

It was the biggest fight in history for our MMA scene. Yes, the Moravian samurai had already won the UFC title and made history, but to fight for the belt of the biggest organization in Madison Square Garden? If he had won, it would hardly have been topped.

Unfortunately, it didn’t. While the judges said the first round went his way, he looked better in the second. But at the end of it, he was too quick to attack and Pereira sent him to his knees. The kneeling Procházka then landed several hard elbows and went down.

Though the public, fans, journalists and pundits talked about it being an early stoppage and the fight could have continued, BJP was already in the cage after the fight admitting that he was out. He also defended referee Marc Goddard in his decision.

Since then, only Pereira has been shown in the media and any further statement from the Moravian fighter was awaited. However, the silence was broken towards the evening on Sunday.

For the first time since the loss, Prochazka spoke out

Jiri Procházka is not only a fantastic athlete, but also a huge professional. He has the character of a champion. He confirmed that by accepting the loss and congratulating his opponent on the win immediately after the match.

Even the fact that he admitted that he was out helped him to become even more popular with many fans. He never makes excuses for anything, never looks for extra words. He’s not one to mince words. It makes his words carry all the more weight.

And now he finally broke his silence and spoke at least briefly for the first time since the loss on his Instagram. It’s a huge motivation for me. Nothing else.”

“Referee Marc Goddard made the right decision. Maybe two, three or more seconds and it could have gone differently, but what happened happened. Other than that, watch me now. I’ll be back. Stronger than ever,” added a determined Prochazka.

While Pereira is expected to face Jamahal Hill in his next fight, what will happen to the Moravian samurai remains to be seen. However, UFC boss Dana White also spoke briefly about his future.
