Jiri Prochazka is back in action after almost 17 months, and he’ll be facing a UFC title fight on Saturday night. Before that, however, he has to fulfill his media obligations and it was during those that he shined quite well.

One of the biggest MMA events of the year is coming up this weekend. That’s because UFC 295 will deliver big fights at Madison Square Garden, with Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira taking care of the main event.

Two dangerous fighters you definitely don’t want to meet in the cage, but they stand out for their lifestyle, their uniqueness and their characters. No trash talking, no insults from one side or the other. Just mutual respect.

Procházka in particular has faced all sorts of questions from journalists about his thinking or personal life. After all, there is probably no one else in the UFC who follows the Bushido code and who would embark on the path of a champion alone, without a partner.

This is, in short, a person who is of great interest to the media. And no wonder. However, some of his reasoning and opinions are difficult to explain in his native language, let alone English, which was borne out in his media duties.

Procházka entertained with his English vocabulary

Jiri Procházka has really worked on his English since coming to the UFC. He can hold long conversations, communicate fluently. Yes, you can tell he’s not a native speaker, but his progress is huge. What the UFC would give for a similar approach to languages with, say, Brazilians.

However, the minor language barrier has been responsible for moments of almost genius at times. On Wednesday night, for example, the Moravian samurai flashed a phrase that is circulating the world of the internet.

He was answering a question about whether he would urge the UFC to return to the Czech Republic and Europe in general if he won against Pereira. “Sure, it would be a great chance to show that there are a lot of fans here who like MMA and fighting,” he expressed.

But the main thing was yet to come. In trying to explain why we need to watch wrestling and the pure power of man-to-man combat in Europe, he used a word that may sound offensive, though he certainly didn’t mean it that way at all.

His use of the word to refer to the more effeminate or fearful men in Europe quickly went viral. Fans in the comments and on social media generally admit that this will be their new favorite word, adding that this is exactly the word that was missing from their vocabulary and they didn’t know about it until now.
