Jiří Procházka has had a very long break. But he’ll be back in action on Saturday at the UFC 295 gala. His last fight was almost 17 months ago. A lot has changed for him in that time. For example, he’s become a loner.

UFC 295 is just around the corner, and in addition to focusing on the fight, Jiri Prochazka faces media obligations. In addition to the journalists asking him about his fight with Alex Pereira, they’re also naturally interested in his personal life.

Not to mention. The Moravian Samurai is a phenomenon. After all, he follows the Bushido code, enjoys being in the dark, is concerned with self-development and his personality is, in short, very specific and unique.

Moreover, some time has passed since his last fight, so the public can learn what has changed in the life of the former and hopefully soon to be UFC champion in those nearly 17 months.

“It’s been a breakout year for me. I’m 31 years old. Every year is a turning point when you live life to the fullest, but the break has taken its toll on me. It’s been a struggle at times. Especially in terms of recovery and rehabilitation,” Procházka admitted to Deník.cz.

Procházka became a loner

Jiří Procházka was supposed to defend his belt last December in a rematch against Glover Teixeira. However, he seriously injured his shoulder and the title bout was forfeited. He took it very badly. He took it to mean that something in his life wasn’t ideal. So he decided to make some changes.

He started to look for a new path, he wanted to look for new perspectives on life and decided to take a new path alone: “I want to take this path alone and be alone, so I had to take responsibility for these things. I mean relationally. In terms of my partner, my friends, the people around me. I’ve had to brush everything up a lot and I believe everything is in the right place.”

He wants to focus on himself, purely on the fight and pushing his limits. “You really need a clear head and silence to do that. Especially inner silence. That’s not compatible with having someone around me all the time. I’m a loner and I have to say that on the other hand it gives me strength,” explains Procházka.

The former Rizin king and former UFC welterweight champion is already in New York. He will fight Alex Pereira on Saturday night. He celebrated his birthday in mid-October and now he wants to treat himself to the most important gift of all.
