Real Madrid likes this way a lot. Catch a huge talent in Brazil for big money, let him win for a while at home and start working on him in Spain at 18. After Vinícius and Rodrigue, the Endrick project is now being planned.

37 and a half million euros. That’s how much money Real Madrid shelled out for the only 16-year-old Endrick a year ago this winter. He’s been playing for the famous Palmeiras team since he was 15.

The deal was that he would improve in Brazil until he was 18 and move to Madrid in the summer of 2024. After the transfer was announced, he struggled for a while, he didn’t do well, the pressure was immense, he even cried on the bench once.

But now he is gaining the confidence he needs. In the game against Botafogo, Palmeiras got off to a good start and were already down 0-3 after the first half. But then Endrick showed up.

Right after the start of the second half, he took the ball in the attacking half, with a wonderful solo he got rid of five opponents and finished exactly in the net. And he proved why he’s known as the “New Pelé”.

After that, however, nothing happened for a long time and the match was going to the final result 3: 2. But in the 84th minute, the 17-year-old sensation called a turnaround. After a centre, Endrick got to a deflected ball, signalled for a shot and cleared the ball just inside the post.

Palmeiras eventually equalised in the 89th minute to make it 3-3, and completed a fantastic turnaround in the ninth minute of stoppage time to make it 4-3. This brought the Verdão’s lead over first-placed Botafogo down to three points.

And Real Madrid can look forward to another great talent. It will be interesting to see if he goes out on loan at first, or like Vinícius and Rodryg, he fits right in and slowly works his way into the starting line-up.
