Sassuolo vs. Spezia, Preview
Sassuolo have not started the season well, specifically they have not won for four league rounds. It currently sits 15th in the table with just a four-point cushion in the relegation zone. This year, it doesn’t look like the traditional chase of the giants.
Spezia are just as miserable, only in the second league. After last year’s relegation from Serie A, it doesn’t look like a quick return among the elite, on the contrary, from 16th place it has only a one-point cushion on the relegation band.
Sassuolo’s key figures
Club icon Domenico Berardi traditionally shines from the wing, with the Italian international netting five goals and assisting one. The form of right-back Jeremy Toljan cannot be overlooked, with the German defender boasting a goal and five assists.
Spezia’s key figures
It’s hard to praise anyone in the visitors’ squad, with left back Arkadiusz Reca performing decently, author of two goals and one assist. The home side’s top scorer is on just three goals, specifically twenty-two-year-old Luca Mora.
Sassuolo may be picking up points cautiously, but they are quality offensively. With 13 goals scored, it has the second best of the teams in the second half of the table. Thus confirming that it still has a quality squad, it just hasn’t got up to speed defensively yet.
Moreover, Spezia is zero in attack. It hasn’t scored a goal in two of the last three games, and overall it is the third worst attacking team in the league with eight shots. Thus, riskier punters can try a tip on zero away goals in the match at nice odds.
On the other hand, some rotation can be expected from Sassuolo. It won’t take away from their position as favourites, but it might not be with a clean sheet. The bigger certainty will be betting on the home side to win and, therefore, advance further in the competition.
