Jiří Procházka has another huge fight ahead of him. After returning from injury, he will have a title fight with Alex Pereira. But now he has also spoken about potential goals he could one day work his way up to.
The Moravian Samurai is back. On November 11, he’ll be fighting for the welterweight title at Madison Square Garden, which he gave up last year due to a serious shoulder injury. Plus, he’ll be in the main event of the UFC 295 gala.
Originally, Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira were supposed to face off in the main prelims, when they were supposed to “support” Jon Jones’ fight with Stipe Miocic, but it didn’t happen, so BJP can enjoy the headlining role.
He recently spoke specifically about his opponent Pereira, hinting at what he could and should be better at and highlighting the Brazilian slugger’s strengths. He also mentioned the surrender of his title.
If Prochazka can get his duel with the Brazilian right, he could have other interesting and spectacular goals for the future. After all, he talked about them in an interview with Mixx Sports Media, where he got some interesting questions.
Does Procházka have big plans?
Jiri Procházka is a champion by his very nature. He has only the highest ambitions and rightly so. He’s a unique phenomenon, you can’t help but admire him. His aura alone inspires great respect.
His every word carries a lot of weight. He himself usually focuses primarily on the present, not looking too far into the future. But he has outlined some very interesting possibilities and goals he might want to achieve.
When asked about a possible fight with the legendary Jon Jones, he didn’t refuse: “Why not? I still want to do a few fights at welterweight, but if I can… I believe in time we’ll do a P4P fight to see who’s the best outside of the heavyweights. That type of fight will have to be promoted. In this case, it makes sense to me.”
He wouldn’t even mind dominating three weight classes. “It’s possible. Why not. It just has to come down to the situation and things have to be conducive to it. For now, I have it this way and I’m going that way,” Procházka allowed himself to be heard.
