Booing Verstappen? All right for me, says the three-time champion and has a clear message for the fans

Max Verstappen won the last US Grand Prix and thus took his 50th victory in his Formula 1 career. After the race, however, he was booed by his teammate’s fans, for whom the reigning champion has a clear message.

Verstappen drove to a well-deserved victory at the Circuit of The Americas, managing to finish in first place despite brake problems.

The three-time world champion thus celebrated his 50th career victory in the USA. He was originally joined on the podium by Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris.

However, after Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified, Carlos Sainz took the podium, with Red Bull’s second driver Sergio Pérez moving up to fourth. And while fans celebrated him as a Mexican and almost home-grown driver, Verstappen was booed.

A reporter from Viaplay NL asked Verstappen after the race if the boos from the Checa Pérez fans were uncomfortable for him. And admittedly, the US Grand Prix winner probably answered as best he could.

“No, it wasn’t. At the end of the day, I’m the one who takes home the trophy, so for me everything is perfectly fine,” Verstappen said in an interview with Viaplay NL.

The reporter amended his question and asked Verstappen again. This time he asked how he would feel if he won the upcoming Mexican race and the fans booed him again. And the Red Bull driver’s answer?

“Then it will still be me who wins and takes home the trophy, so everything will be fine for me again,” added the three-time champion.
