A great honor! Pastrnak and Krejci among legends, named to Boston Bruins’ Team of the Century

The Boston Bruins are one of the most traditional brands in the NHL, celebrating 100 years of existence this year. On this occasion, the team of the century was assembled. It includes David Pastrnak and Krejci.

Only three teams have won the Stanley Cup more than once and only three teams have appeared in the finals more than once. The Boston Bruins, in short, are among the most prestigious the best hockey league in the world has to offer. And this year, it celebrates 100 years of existence.

In that time, the Massachusetts team has won the prestigious cup six times and a large number of exceptional hockey players have played for the Bruins. So choosing the 20 who will make up the dream team wasn’t easy. And getting there? That must have been even harder.

It’s even more of an honor to have Moravia and Silesia represented, with David Pastrňák and Krejčí making the roster. The former is still one of the best the NHL has to offer, the latter is now without a contract and is wondering if he will continue his career or where.

It’s worth mentioning that Slovak defenseman Zdeno Chara also made it into this prestigious top 20. The entire star-studded line-up was presented at a gala dinner at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

Pastrňák has played 593 games for Boston with 303 goals and 316 assists. He tied for the Rocket Richard Trophy for top scorer in 2019-20 and was the first Bruins star to do so since the 1974-75 season.

For a change, Krejci managed to win his last Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011. He played 1,032 games in the organization, scoring 231 goals and adding 555 assists. Twice he became the king of scorers in the playoffs.

“It’s a special feeling. A lot of the legends that made the team are guys we’ve looked up to over the years. They have built the foundation of what we fight for game after game. To be in the same room with them and to meet them, it’s something special, ” said current Bruins captain Brad Marchand, who was also named to the Legends Team.

The Boston Bruins’ Team of the Century is made up of some of the greatest players in franchise history. They were decided by an independent panel of journalists and media representatives, historians and members of the hockey community.

Pastrnak and Krejci round out the stars, which also include Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr and Patrice Bergeron.
