Terminator James Milner is heading for a Premier League record. He is also the only Englishman to have played in European Cups for 5 teams
James Milner is now a legend! At 37 years old, he’s still managing the pace of the Premier League and at Brighton, who are certainly not tanking, but instead playing very active football. Moreover, on Thursday he made his fifth appearance in the European Cups.

Gareth Barry – 652 games, Ryan Giggs – 632 games, James Milner – 624 games. The winner of three league titles is heading for a record number of Premier League starts. What’s more, it’s safe to say that he clearly deserves the top spot!
While the previous record holder was more likely to appear in teams not playing for the title, although he did notch up one win, namely in 2012 with Manchester City, Milner has played the bulk of his career at clubs who were at the top at the time.
These were, of course, Manchester City and Liverpool, from where he moved to Brighton this summer, after a long 8 years during which he also lifted the Champions League winners’ trophy above his head.
In European Cups, Milner has featured for Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and on Thursday Brighton, making 117 starts in total.

In the current season, Milner has already made 6 starts, starting primarily at right-back.
It is the availability in several positions in both defence and midfield that has made the English footballer an indispensable player for all coaches.
An honest worker, a hard and unyielding man who was bred for big football by Leeds United, he has a contract with Brighton until the end of the season, but the club can extend it for another year.
There is nothing more to wish Milner than robust health, the record is already within his grasp and I believe there are very few among Premier League fans who would not wish this first for the English terminator.
