The most expensive transfer in football history? Al Ittihad desperate to bring Salah, offers Liverpool a huge chunk of cash

Saudi Arabia has announced a big attack on European football in the summer transfer window. A number of stars have already headed to the Saudi Pro League and more may be on the way. There was already speculation a few weeks ago about Mohamed Salah’s transfer to Al Ittihad Club, who according to recent reports have increased their offer even further.

The currently third Saudi Pro League club has already brought in several star players during the summer transfer period. Among them are Jota, N’Golo Kanté, Karim Benzema and Fabinho, the club’s most expensive signing to date (€47 million).

In any case, Al Ittihad has his sights set on more star reinforcements. This time it is Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

Speculation about his potential move to Saudi Arabia began a few weeks ago. The offer of the Saudi Arabian champion went up to 150 million pounds, but the English club’s management rejected it.

Al Ittihad, however, are desperate to get Salah. The talkSPORT server has reported in the last few dozen hours that the club have improved their offer for the Egyptian international, specifically by another £25 million.

This brings the current offer to £175 million. However, it doesn’t stop there, Al Ittihad has also included in the improved offer the possibility of increasing that amount to £215 million.

If a transfer for that amount were to actually happen, it would be the most expensive transfer in football history. This is the transfer of Neymar from Barcelona to PSG for £198 million so far.

Salah would also most likely become one of the highest paid athletes historically, earning £2.4 million a week.

The lucrative terms would include £55,000 for every win or a large percentage of the profits made from the sale of jerseys.
