Trpišovský: We made it difficult for ourselves with the red card. But the boys did great anyway, we didn’t allow Dnipro to do anything and created a good position for the rematch

Prague Slavia easily defeated Ukrainian vice-champion Dnipro-1 at home in Eden and took a beautiful three-goal lead into the rematch. How was coach Jindřich Trpišovský satisfied with the performance of his charges?
Slavia could be quite satisfied after drawing Dnipro, they are quite a big favourite in the double-header and the strengths of both teams were shown in Eden from the first minute.
The fans were treated to the opening goal in the 5th minute, when Ivan Schranz scored after a quick run. The same player scored a second time almost at the end of the first half.
In the 51st minute, Slavia enjoyed a third goal, but Václav Jurecka’s penalty was eventually called back after VAR. In the end, however, we did see a third goal in Eden, with Conrad Wallem scoring after two minutes on the pitch.
“I think overall we gave a good performance. After the first goal our performance improved a lot, we pressed the opponent a lot and played the way we wanted to. After the 2:0 goal we were even more confident and threatened with more situations that could have ended in more goals.
Unfortunately, we made it difficult for ourselves with a red card, when we lost one player, fortunately we played the same way as before and didn’t let the opponent into dangerous situations or finishes. We managed to add a third goal, but the sending off was a pity, we played very well at that stage and could have won by a lot more.
When we went to ten, we gave the opponent a chance to keep the ball, we couldn’t create such pressure, but the boys did great, we didn’t allow Dnipro anything and created a good position for the rematch,” said Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.
Slavia also said goodbye to the turf, which will be changed over the next few days. Especially in the last league match it was shown that it is simply not possible to play league football on such turf.
