Atlético Madrid, with reinforcements from the Premier League, has already played against the best European team of today, but they have not confirmed this reputation. Manchester City beat coach Diego Simeone’s team 2-0 thanks to goals from wingers Memphis Depay and Yannick Carrasco.

The fans at the stadium witnessed a classic duel in which Manchester City dominated the ball, but neither team managed to score a goal.

In such a situation, the experienced 29-year-old already knows how to handle himself, which he confirmed with his shot to the bar and increased the score to 2:0.

The header was then corrected to 1: 2 by stopper Rúben Dias, who held the defensive reins of the Citizens throughout last season, especially in the Champions League final against Inter, in which he was clearly one of the best players on the pitch.

Atlético Madrid will then play friendlies against Real Sociedad and Sevilla before kicking off the new season on 14 August at home to Granada.

It will be the last friendly for Manchester City, as they face Arsenal in the FA Community Shield on 6 August. Five days later, the Citizens already have a league trip to Burnley, who have returned to the Premier League in style.

The team is also led by Vincent Kompany, who spent 11 long years at the Etihad Stadium.
