Portuguese club Benfica Lisbon confirmed one big return in the early hours of Wednesday. Ángel Di María is returning to the club where he has shown the most to football Europe.
The 35-year-old Argentine transferred to Benfica from Rosario, specifically in 2007. And it was in the jersey of this famous Portuguese club that he started his rich football career.
In three years in the jersey of the Lisbon big club, he played 121 matches with a record of 15+28 and won the championship title, plus the domestic cup.

According to the latest reports, Di María has signed a one-year contract at Benfica. He will thus join his compatriot Nicolas Otamendi, with whom he won the World Cup in Qatar last year, at the club. “Welcome home, ” reads the official Benfica announcement.
Di María last played for Juventus, where he played 40 games and scored eight goals, plus seven assists. However, he did not win any trophies with the Turin club.
