UFC welterweight champion Jamahal Hill brings great news. In his latest interview, he revealed that Jiri Prochazka has reportedly fully recovered from his shoulder injury that forced him to relinquish his title. He is now ready to fight and they are just looking for a date for their fight.
Jamahal Hill awaits the return of his number one title challenger
He has achieved a lifetime best but had to give it up due to adversity. The entire fan community has been waiting for months for his return. But light has now been shed on the murky situation by his opponent who has confirmed the great news.
Jiri Prochazka came into the UFC like a hurricane. He became the first man to finish former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir. Dominick Reyes, who lasted all of five rounds in his title fight with the legendary Jon Jones, then took him down with a crazy spinning elbow.
In his third fight, the Moravian samurai was given a shot at a title in the top MMA league in the world. After a crazy five-round war, he won his dream championship belt, but before his first defense he seriously injured his shoulder and had to relinquish his title.
The vacant title was then won by a confluence of unusual events by Jamahal Hill. However, Walk was promised by the head of the organization, Dana White, that as soon as he was medically fit, he would be given an immediate chance to regain his belt.
Hill revealed that Prochazka is already ready to fight
As he promised, he delivered. Hill had to wait for his opponent, even though he showed considerable nervousness about the situation on more than one occasion. But now it looks like things have finally gotten underway.
“Right now I’m just waiting for Jirka,” Hill told MiddleEasy. “But I was recently told he’s ready to fight,” he said.
“Now it’s just a matter of setting a date, so let’s go for it,” he revealed that the UFC brass is already setting a date for the fight. “But it’s clear it’s going to be Jiri.”
Hill also returned to their staredown with each other during the UFC 285 gala. ” He tried to intimidate me then, which made me understand that he doesn’t understand what’s coming,” he sent a clear message to his challenger.
So hopefully the organization will soon announce a date for one of the most anticipated returns of the year. However, it is generally expected that it will not be until the end of the year. After all, most numbered UFC tournaments already have main events announced for the fall.
