Speculation confirmed, it’s done. The national winger Vaclav Cerny is the new signing of Wolfsburg, the Bundesliga team with whom he signed a four-year contract. The goal will be to compete for European Cups.

Almost his entire career has been linked to the Netherlands. At the age of seventeen, Václav Černý left the academy of Příbram for Ajax, where he was a big star for a long time.

He was a regular in his youth team and scored goal after goal, even getting a chance in the A-team as a teenager, where he also scored a goal.

He played in sixteen league games for the senior team, but his career was put on hold by injuries which caused him to leave Ajax and head to Utrecht.

It wasn’t the same there either and after a year he left for Twente, where he has had three seasons and the last one was outstanding from his point of view. Cerny has played 36 league games, something he hasn’t done in one season.

In addition, he scored 14 goals and added 13 assists, which immediately caught the attention of European scouts. After the season, speculation began about an offer from Germany, specifically from Wolfsburg.

And those speculations were finally confirmed today. Cerny was presented with a new reinforcement by the eighth team of the last Bundesliga season, signing a four-year contract.

“I can’t wait for it to finally start. The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world. I’m very happy to be able to wear the VfL Wolfsburg jersey next season,” he told the club website after his arrival.

“We are very happy that Václav has chosen VfL Wolfsburg and our way. He is a very goal-scoring player who has impressively demonstrated his qualities at Twente and his development is far from over.

We are convinced that he can take the next step in his career at Wolfsburg and that he will be an important addition to our offensive line,” added Sporting Director Sebastian Schindzielorz.
