Hammers captain and England international Declan Rice will most likely move. However, West Ham will not let him go just like that, as evidenced by the rejection of the first offers!
In the transfer market, midfielder Rice is a hot commodity. He is not expected to extend his contract with West Ham and so his move is imminent. The most talked about name among potential future employers is London neighbour Arsenal.
That outfit is seriously interested in the defensive shield of Moyes’ midfield. This fact is evidenced by the first offer for Rico’s transfer.
According to British Sky Sports, however, the management of the Hammers has flatly refused. It was not an underestimated offer.
However, the value of 80 million pounds and other bonuses did not convince the West Ham management. The Canaries will have to persist in their transfer efforts.
And they certainly will, as this was only the first offer from Arsenal, and both teams are at the very beginning of the transfer window.
Rice is on the shopping list of several big clubs who could outbid or even outbid Arsenal. Among them are Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
However, the London Canaries are the biggest favourites to sign the 24-year-old talented midfielder.
Rice joined the Hammers in the summer of 2017 and his current contract runs until June 2024. It is the current length of the Englishman’s contract that allows West Ham to make a pretty penny from the player.
The midfielder, apart from his beginnings in Chelsea’s youth academy, has spent his entire career to date in East London.
He has won one trophy so far and it happened on June 7 this year in Prague. He managed to bring his team to a victorious end in the final of the European Conference League against Fiorentina from Italy.
