Walk won’t be the first challenger to champion Hill? Teixeira’s ward claims the floor

The UFC welterweight division has a new champion and it’s Jamahal Hill, who gave Glover Teixeira no chance in the title fight. It was expected that his first challenger would be Jiri Prochazka. It made sense in every way. But there’s another name trying to get involved.
He was underrated, not many people other than the bookies trusted him before his fight with the legendary Glover Teixeira. But now, Jamahal Hill is the UFC welterweight champion. He came to the title in style, outclassing the Brazilian veteran.
While for Teixeira, the outcome of the fight marked the end of his career, Hill, on the other hand, has a whole new life ahead of him. He immediately became the target that all the stars in his weight division would go after.
It’s no wonder the first to claim the fight was Jiri Prochazka. He had to give up the title due to injury, so a fight between them would have made the most sense. But Moravan is still not 100% fit.
It is expected that Procházka could jump into the cage around the middle or second half of the year. And if Hill will wait that long? He won’t even have to. Because he could face an attempted revenge.
The middleweight champion Alex Pereira wants to take advantage of Prochazka’s injury. Teixeira’s ward and training partner, the puncher who ended Israel Adesanya’s dominance. In addition, Teixeira himself said that one day we will see Pereira at welterweight.
But there was certainly nothing within his statements to suggest it would be this soon. There is a story line to this potential fight, however.
And what does Hill have to say about it? He’s not going to shy away from anyone. “If you want, come try your luck. I’m not afraid of anybody. I take your challenge seriously. It would give me extra motivation to work hard,” the American said on The MMA Hour.
