Ronaldo made the right move by moving to Saudi Arabia, says Real Madrid coach Ancelotti

Cristiano Ronaldo is a new signing for Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr since the beginning of the year. It is in Saudi Arabia that his former club Real Madrid, who will play Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh, are now also based. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has commented on the Portuguese’s transfer.
For a long time, he himself refused to do so, as did journalist Piers Morgan, with whom he did a controversial interview about the events at Manchester United. However, in the end Cristiano Ronaldo was announced as the new reinforcement of the Al-Nassr squad.
European fans will therefore not see the Portuguese legend in action much longer. However, Saudi Arabia is now experiencing a football holiday not only because of Ronaldo’s arrival. There is speculation about an offer for Lionel Messi from Al-Nassr’s biggest rival, Al-Hilal.
And that is not all. The Spanish Super Cup is also heading to Saudi Arabia. On Sunday, Riyadh will see the El Clásico. Real Madrid and Barcelona will face each other from 20:00.
At a press conference, Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid coach, was asked whether Ronaldo had made the right choice. After all, he had said before the World Cup that he wanted to be guided mainly by his sporting ambitions, not his financial ones.
The Italian strategist, who has managed Ronaldo for two years at the Santiago Bernabeu, answered quite succinctly: “Ronaldo is happy, very motivated. He likes it here and in this country. He is extremely motivated and he made the right decision.”
However, the Portuguese has not yet managed to play for his new employer, with whom he signed a record contract. For one thing, he had to serve a penalty for his conduct back in the English league, in addition to Al-Nassr having to make room on the roster.
Fans are expected to see Ronaldo’s competitive debut on January 22. Before that, though, he could start in a friendly against PSG. So maybe we will see the last duel between Ronaldo and Messi.
