New Year’s Eve offered some interesting matches. Just after lunch we saw Manchester United take on Wolves at Molineux stadium.
The Red Devils had the upper hand in the game, however they waited until the 76th minute to score when Marcus Rashford broke through after a nice combination with Bruno Fernandes. He secured his fifth consecutive win in the competition.
So it seems that Manchester United is slowly starting to blossom under the leadership of Erik ten Hag and currently they are finally in the top four of the English league table. This is even without Cristiano Ronaldo, who has signed for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr.
It was the coach of ten Hag who commented very briefly on the departure of the Portuguese star from the European continent, more or less confirming that there were indeed not the best relations between him and Ronaldo.
“I’m not talking about the past, let’s rather talk about the future,” Goal quotes the Dutch strategist as saying.
He then immediately started talking about the win over Wolves: “We made a good move. We are in the top four for the first time, but it doesn’t mean anything. We have a long way to go. We have to go from game to game and put ourselves in a position to win something.”
Then on Tuesday, Manchester United have another game when they welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford.
