Vegas can celebrate the Stanley Cup at home. We can’t let our emotions get the better of us, says Eichel

Since 2016, there has only been one time that a team celebrated a Stanley Cup victory at home (Tampa 2021). Now the Vegas Golden Knights have the same opportunity. But the last step is the hardest.

It’s the final game between two teams that have never won the Stanley Cup. Both organizations, however, have a history of missing the finals.

Florida reached the finals in 1996, Vegas in its first year, 2018. The Panthers fell to Colorado, the Golden Knights to Washington.

Vegas, meanwhile, is showing more hunger for its first trophy. Marchessault and Co. have taken a 3-1 series lead and have three power play goals.

Moreover, they have the opportunity to finish the series and celebrate the Stanley Cup victory on their own ice, they just need to win the night game (Wednesday 2:00 CET) and they will be champions.

But the last step is always the hardest. “We can’t let our emotions get the best of us. We just need to think about the next substitution. “ Vegas star Jack Eichel knows all too well.

“We just have to live in the moment. Just the present moment. Shift after shift, shot after shot. Then we can get our big wish,” goalie Adin Hill agrees.

But Florida has no plans to give up and let the Golde Knights win. If any team can turn around an unfavorable series, it’s the Panthers, but look at the first round with Boston.

“We know we’re going to face a ‘desperate team’. A lot of things can happen. But hopefully we can put on a good performance and make the fans happy. It would be tremendous for them. It’s been enough travelling, ” Marchessault said.
