Great qualifying! The MotoGP Royal Cubature has its nineteenth round of the season on the schedule this weekend, namely the Malaysian Grand Prix. And we’ve already had qualifying, with Jorge Martin the winner. Another tragic result for Quartararo, with Miller failing to advance from Q1.

The Malaysian Grand Prix is the penultimate round of the MotoGP season, and Saturday’s qualifying session set a very interesting order for the start of Sunday’s race.

Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez advanced to the next stage of qualifying from the first qualifying segment, which offers only two places. However, the fans witnessed some nasty crashes in the last minutes of Q1.

Jack Miller was the worst looking one, and you can see his crash for yourself in the video below.

In the second part of the qualifying session, several drivers were fighting for pole position, and the important moment was witnessed by all the fans about a minute and a half before the end of Q2. That was when the Italian Bagnaia crashed and was unable to intervene in the rest of the qualifying session.

At the very end of Q2, Aleix Espargaro crashed and was unable to improve his lap time and will start the Malaysian Grand Prix from the ninth starting slot. Bagnaia, on the other hand, set a time that he was unable to improve on mainly due to the crash and will start ninth.

As far as the championship fight is concerned, Fabio Quartararo was unable to take advantage of Bagnaia’s crash and will only start from twelfth on Sunday.

However, Martin on the Pramac, who also won Saturday’s qualifying, made the most of his time. His time? 1::57.790, breaking the historic track record for the 24-year-old!

Enea Bastianini and Marc Márquez still tried to fight for pole position at the end of Q2, but Martin beat them by a whopping half a second. You can see the full final qualifying order in the attached Twitter post below.
