We know all the semifinalists of the US Open singles. No unseeded players made it through. What’s the upcoming schedule?
The men’s semi-final will be missing the number one seed Daniil Medvedev and the number two seed Rafael Nadal. The highest ranked semifinalist is the third Carlos Alcaraz. On the other hand, the top seed and world number one, Iga Swiatek, is still defending her position as the favourite in the women’s part of the tournament.

Men
The biggest surprise of the quarter-finals came undoubtedly in the match between Kyrgios and Khachanov. After a long battle lasting 3 hours and 41 minutes, the Russian surprisingly rejoiced. Kyrgios seemed to be in great form, beating Medvedev, but this time he stumbled.
In a battle of two tall great servers, he was the loser. On aces the match ended 31::30 in favour of the Australian. Overall, however, 5::7, 6::4, 5::7, 7::6 and 4::6 for Khachanov.
The duel between Sinner and Alcaraz was equally even. The Spaniard, as the better placed player, managed to finish the match with a winning score, also 3: 2 in sets. The other two matches, on the other hand, had an unexpectedly clear course. Ruud swept the Italian Berettini 3:0 and the home team’s Tiaofoe swept Rublev.
In the semi-finals Casper Ruud from Norway will challenge Russian Karen Khachanov. Only 19 years old star from Spain Carlos Alcazar will face the home representative Frances Tiafoe for the final. Playing times to be determined.
Women
All women’s quarterfinals ended 2-0. There was no evenly matched battle. The world number one and seeded Iga Swiatek of Poland took on the well-playing home team Pegula. The last Czech in the game, Karolina Pliskova, did not get past the second Belarusian in a row.
She was stopped by a superb Sabalenka. Pliskova acknowledged the quality of her opponent in one of her post-match interviews. I gave her a lot of chances and she didn’t get into the game. I didn’t play like I did in the previous matches. But it’s also about the opponent and Aryna didn’t give me many chances. I’ve never played against her when she was in this form before,” said Pliskova.
Cori Gauff is the other home player who will not be playing in the tournament, much to the sadness of most fans at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. She didn’t get past Caroline Garcia,
The Frenchwoman with arguably the greatest current form on the circuit. The last player to advance is Ons Jabeur, who confirmed her role as favourite by beating Tomljanovic of Australia.
In the battle for the final spot, Poland’s Swiatek, as the number one seed, will face Pliskova’s conqueror Aryna Sabalenka. The match will start on 9 September at 2:30 pm our time. The other semifinal pairing is Ons Jabeur and Caroline Garcia. Their match is scheduled for September 9 at 1:00.
