The inaugural edition of the LIV Golf Series is about to continue with the fifth edition of the LIV Chicago Invitational. LIV and PGA Tour fans will be competing against each other this weekend. But while the tournament’s lineup of traditional American events doesn’t garner as much attention at the start of the season, the competitive series offers a far more formidable starting field.
The Rich Harvest Farms course, approximately 50 miles from downtown Chicago, will be the site of the fifth event in the LIV Golf tournament series. Traditionally, 48 players will face off against each other, divided into 12 teams.
Once again, the event will have a strong starting field on American soil. The winner of the last tournament in Boston, Dustin Johnson, will not be absent, as well as stars such as Cameron Smith, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and others.
The Rich Harvest Farms event venue was built in 1989 and spans 7.3 square miles. In 1999, the course was named as the fifth best private course in the United States. Very specific is hole 4, which is considered one of the most challenging in the golf world.
SAME FAVOURITES AS BOSTON
The number one man on the bookies’ papers is the fresh winner from the last tournament, Dustin Johnson. Due to the fact that LIV Golf tournaments do not yet count for world ranking points, Johnson is only 102nd in the world rankings. Still, he is considered by the public to be one of the best players on the planet.
The bookmakers are aware of this and believe that Dustin Johnson could win the LIV series for the second tournament in a row at odds of 5.50.
Close behind is Australian pro Cameron Smith, who joined LIV just two weeks ago at the Boston tournament. Already there, Smith was far from triumphant, losing by just one shot to Johnson. The bookmakers see a similar scenario this time as well, with the Australian at 6.00 odds.
Smith will definitely be one of the top favorites. However, if you don’t trust him to win, you can bet at odds of 2.00 that he will finish in the top five. For Dustin Johnson, this bet is at odds of 1.90.

The total amount to be split at the end of the tournament in Chicago is $25 million, with the winner of the tournament pocketing an even $4 million. The LIV Golf event will be a winner for all players, with the last-place finisher taking home a “token” $120,000.
Of the total purse, 20 million will be split between the individual players, with another 5 million reserved for team prizes.
As is customary this season, fans can watch all LIV Golf tournaments for free on the YouTube channel or on the official LIV Golf website.
