You don’t see that every day. Medvedev shouted at his coach during the game! He didn’t hesitate and left the stands. The failure of the world number one continues
I wrote recently about how unbalanced the top men’s tennis team is at the moment. After Novak Djokovic left the world number one position, Daniil Medvedev took it over. And it can’t be said that the role suits him.

The Russian number one plays under pressure and can’t turn any final into a victory. Rumour has it that he hasn’t been completely mentally well in recent weeks and the latest developments only confirm that. The results are like a seesaw.
He’s made it to 3 finals since the start of the year, which is not in vain at all. But the problem is he hasn’t made it to a title shot. But on the other hand, he played, for example, the tournament in Geneva or Indian Wells, where he dropped out very early. The same goes for the French Open, where Medvedev was packing his bags after a smooth loss in the eighth round.
The last of the mentioned finals took place on 19 June in Halle, Germany, and even here the Russian did not shine. The match was dominated by Hubert Hurkacz and Medvedev did not take it well at all. The final was quite smooth after sets 1::6 and 4::6.
During the match the Russian had several loud and irritating exchanges with his coach. Daniil finally lost his temper and shouted at his coach. He did not hesitate and left the stands. You really don’t see that every day.
