Australia has cancelled Djokovic’s visa! It’s in the interests of health and good manners, says Minister

Another twist in the Novak Djokovic case! The Australian Minister for Immigration Alex Hawke has cancelled his visa, so the world number one tennis player will most likely not appear at the Australian Open.

There have already been many twists and turns in the Novak Djokovic case and his possible participation in the first Grand Slam this season, but this one is most likely the final one.

The world tennis number one will not be attending the Australian Open, as the Minister for Immigration Alex Hawke has cancelled the Serbian’s visa, which he obtained under an exemption from the mandatory vaccination.

Djokovic should therefore leave Australia instead of defending his title and attacking the record for the most Grand Slam titles.

“I have used my powers to cancel Novak Djokovic’s visa in the interests of protecting public health and good morals,” Hawke said in a statement.

Djokovic will probably still try to overturn the decision through the courts, however the Australian Open starts on Monday and time is ticking fast.

Outside of Australia, the Serbian tennis player is also facing punishment in his home country. In recent hours, there was even speculation that Spain had also started investigating him for trespassing.
