The Cognizant Aston Martin F1 Team driver recently confirmed that he will race for the same colours next season. However, he admitted that his career is slowly coming to an end and he is already starting to think about what he might do after it is over.
Vettel is a regular supporter of social justice and ethical causes. He is also very interested in ecology and has no qualms about the health of our planet.
It is not only for these reasons that several people in the Formula 1 field have mentioned that the four-time world champion would also make a good politician, although as Vettel himself has noted, he will not make a final decision until after his active career is over.
“I’m not really a fan of the media, I’m not sure politics would be right for me,” Sebastian Vettel told The Race website.
“But I’m definitely thinking about what I’m going to do after my career. It’s very easy to be attracted to passionate people, even if it’s things I’m not interested in. I can easily develop a new passion,” he added.
Vettel is also thinking about continuing in the world of Formula 1, but in a different capacity. This is similar to the way Nico Rosberg, Daymon Hill or Jenson Button operate today.
“It’s always very difficult for any sportsman to find what to do after his active career, it’s a big challenge. The easiest thing would be to become a Sky reporter and find yourself in the same place for a few years,” explained Vettel.
I can’t imagine myself in this position yet, but I love Formula 1 and I don’t want to turn my back on it. But I’m definitely thinking about other options. Ialso have a family, so it’s easy to find things to take care of,” the German driver concluded.
