Alpha Tauri pair to stay for next season, team confirms

Pierre Gasly and Júki Cunoda, the drivers of the F1 team Alpha Tauri, have been officially confirmed in the driver line-up of the Italian team for 2022. The experience of Gasly, who, despite his relatively young age, has done a lot of driving, will definitely come in handy when the rules change.
The French driver, who returns to the grand prix this weekend at the venue where he sensationally won last year, Monza in Italy, also has a brief stint with Red Bull.
Back then, Torro Rosso was still operating as a Red Bull subsidiary and Gasly got his brief chance. However, he couldn’t handle the pressure and returned to what is now Alpha Tauri midway through the 2019 season.
His teammate Yuki Cunoda has been one of the most criticised drivers of the season so far, not least because the Japanese has added more mistakes than good results.
Cunoda was also rumored to have made it to F1 mainly due to the fact that Alpha Tauri has been powered by a Japanese Honda engine for the last year.
So the power unit designer apparently asked or dictated the driver himself. Whatever the circumstances, the Gasly/Cunoda pairing will keep F1 fans entertained in the next edition.
And with Pierre Gasly in particular, we can look forward to another dose of great racing.
