Red flags, qualifying stopped! Watch Lando Norris’ horrific accident

A rainy qualifying session at the historic and traditional Spa-Francorchamps circuit resulted in a huge crash for Lando Norris, who wrecked his car at the Eau Rouge corner!

In the third part of qualifying we witnessed more rain. Not only Lando Norris, but also Sebastian Vettel, for example, took to the track for at least one quick lap before the circuit got too wet.

And it has to be said that Norris had a great qualifying run. The British McLaren driver won both Q1 and Q2. Unfortunately, due to the massive shattering of his car, Norris will not be able to take part in the rest of qualifying.

The Eau Rouge corner in particular is a very difficult and technical corner even in dry conditions. Norris, who was already struggling with aquaplaning at the end of his out lap, was too fast into the Eau Rouge corner and crashed very badly!

In any case, the twenty-one-year-old Briton seems to be fine and will be fit for Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix, but it is a question of what position he will start the race from.

As you can see for yourself, his monocoque is badly damaged and the control unit itself is very likely to be damaged.

Red flags were immediately displayed on the circuit and qualifying was immediately halted.
