On Saturday, we have the final match of the WTA tournament in Dubai. Barbora Krejcikova will challenge Garbine Muguruza of Spain, who is the paper favourite. Who’s going to win the title?
Barbora Krejcikova is currently ranked 63rd in the WTA. However, it is already clear that she will be the worst ranked player in Monday’s edition at 37th.
The former world number one in doubles will play for her first ever singles title on Saturday. She is in the form of her life at the Dubai tournament, where she took on Sakkari, Ostapenko, Kuznetsova, Potapova and Teichmann.
Her opponent will be Garbine Muguruza. The 27-year-old Spaniard is starting to return to the form she was in when she was at the very top of the rankings.
Muguruza has already won seventeen matches in 2021, but she is still waiting for her first title. In this calendar year, she has only fallen short of Sakkari, Barty, Osaka and Kvitova.
So what’s your bet? Although Muguruza is the paper favourite, Barbora Krejcikova is certainly not without a chance here. The odds of 4.32 for the Czech to win don’t quite match that.
Barbora Krejcikova has made a lot of progress lately. She can rely on her serve, which she lost only six times during the whole tournament.
This will be the first ever meeting between these players. The match, which will be broadcast on O2 TV Tennis, is scheduled to start at 16:00.
