Karolína Muchová had a great run at the Australian Open and was the only one of our tennis players to go far. At least as far as singles is concerned. She has rightfully moved up in the WTA rankings. And how do the WTA and ATP rankings look after the first Grand Slam of the season?

Only Karolína Muchová from the Czech Republic made a dent in the world at the Australian Open. She entered the tournament as the 27th player in the WTA rankings, but her ride to the semifinals moved her up five places, to 22nd position.

The 24-year-old native of Olomouc is now closer to her lifetime best, which was 21st place. If Muchová continues like this, she will definitely go even higher.

Another one who moved up in the rankings, but not thanks to the Australian Open, is Marie Bouzkova. She moved from 50th to 48th.

Karolina Pliskova, whom Muchova defeated during the first Grand Slam of the season, remained in sixth place. She also remained unchanged at 20th. Markéta Vondroušová. However, the rest of our tennis players have already moved down in the rankings.

Petra Kvitova dropped from eighth to tenth, Strýcová went down one place to 39th, Krejčíková is now 63rd, Siniakova is 68th and Kristýna Plíšková is 75th.

The WTA top ten now looks as follows:

1. Barty
2. Osaka (formerly 3rd)
3. Halep (formerly 2nd)
4. Kenin
5. Svitolina
6. Karolina Pliskova
7. S. Williams (formerly 11th)
8. Sabalenka (formerly 7th)
9. Andreescu
10. Kvitova (formerly 8th)

There were no dizzying changes, at least in the top ten, in men’s tennis. However, Tomas Machac moved up in the ATP rankings after his good performance in Australia and left a great impression.

Machac moved from 199th to 173rd, which is a solid move. Rosol, who is currently 183rd in the ATP rankings, also made a move. Jiri Vesely dropped down one place to 69th.

The ATP top ten now looks as follows:

1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Medvedev (formerly 4th)
4. Thiem (formerly 3rd)
5. Federer
6. Tsitsipas
7. Zverev
8. Rubljov
9. Schwartzman
10. Berrettini
