The name Schumacher in F1 again! The son of the legendary Michael gets his chance in Friday’s practice at the Nürburgring

The news regarding Michael Schumacher is not the kind of news that pleases the sporting world. However, there is now one piece of good news from the Schumacher family. For the son of the legendary F1 driver is to test drive a car in the royal class of motorsport for the first time.

The last time motorsport fans saw the name Schumacher in F1 was in 2012. But now, finally, they will get to see it again! On Friday, Mick Schumacher will be in the Alfa Romeo for free practice sessions.

the 21-year-old son of the legendary Michael Schumacher, who is a seven-time F1 champion, has earned the opportunity with great performances, especially in the second half of the F2 championship. In fact, he is in the lead and there is talk that he could be a permanent member of the royal class next year.

Before Friday’s practice, however, Schumacher will be driving the 2018 Ferrari on Thursday. After all, big things are expected from Mick in the future. But he remains modest for now: ‘I’m very happy to have been given this chance in free practice. The fact that my first participation in a Formula 1 weekend will be in front of my home crowd at the Nürburgring makes this moment even more special.”

“I’ll be preparing well over the next ten days to do the best possible job for the team and get valuable data,” he added.

The boss of the Sauber, or Alfa Romeo, team is clear about Schumacher’s potential: “ He is fast, but he is also consistent and mature behind the wheel. These are all hallmarks of a future champion. He impressed us with his attitude and work ethic when he was with us last year and we look forward to working with him again at the Nürburgring.”
