Will we see a Lewandowski-Messi attacking duo? I dream of it, says the Pole

According to some speculation, Lionel Messi may return to Barcelona after the season. There he would be welcomed with open arms by, for example, the Polish cannon player and the Blaugranas’ most prominent summer signing Robert Lewandowski.
“Messi is a footballing diamond who always supplies the other strikers with millimetre-accurate passes and goal-scoring passes. There is a close connection and exceptional chemistry between him and the strikers, and his service is second to none. There isno doubt that he is the best in the world at distributing passes,” Lewandowski said in an interview with Marca.
He also commented on the possibility that he and the Argentine could be reunited in the same team next season.
“I don’t know if anything is in the pipeline, but for me as a spearhead player it would be a dream come true to play alongside Lionel Messi,” the Polish hitman, who is the top scorer in the Spanish La Liga with 13 goals to date, was quoted as saying.
Lewandowski also commented on Messi’s Argentina’s chances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which will kick off soon.
“I believe that the Argentines with Messi are a hot candidate to win the gold medal. They are playing great football, they have not lost for thirty games in a row and everyone must see that they are a well put together team,” said the popular “Lewa”, complimenting the South Americans.
Lewandowski moved to Barcelona before the start of this season when he refused to continue at Bayern Munich, reportedly because the club was negotiating with Erling Haaland, who eventually chose Manchester City anyway.
In Catalonia, the Warsaw native immediately became a mainstay and continues the goal scoring spree he started before Bayern at rival Borussia Dortmund.
Messi, on the other hand, left Barcelona in 2021, choosing to join Paris Saint-Germain after many years with the club. And while in his first season in France he was still getting his feet wet and playing with his new star teammates led by Kylian Mbappé and old Nou Camp acquaintance Neymar, in this year’s one he is back to being the Messi we all know so well from Barcelona.
Messi on the right wing, Lewandowski on the top and the Spanish super talent Ansu Fati on the left wing. That would be a lethal attack next season, if Barcelona send him out in this line-up in the next league season.
After two years, will the Catalans see the return of their lost son in the form of a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and possibly the best footballer of all time?
