Sunday’s Premier League schedule will feature Southampton and Newcastle alongside two London derbies. What to expect from the relegation contender and the dark horse of the competition and what to bet on?
Southampton have been looking for a goalscorer since the start of the season, which is why they are very low in the table. They are only in 18th place due to a worse score against Aston Villa, while in a balanced table they are 12th. Leeds are just three points behind.
On the other hand, Newcastle has grabbed 16 points from the last six rounds and stays in the Top 4. From the fourth place, it has a single point advantage over the fifth Manchester United, on the other hand, it is only two points behind the third Tottenham.
Meanwhile, midfielder James Ward-Prowse is looking for his form of the last few seasons, the England international has only scored once and assisted once. More is also expected from offensive mainstay Che Adams. He has scored five goals, but three of them in the Carabao Cup.
October’s Premier League comet Miguel Almirón has seven goals and is the frontrunner in the PL Player of the Month poll. Brazilian central midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has scored twice and assisted on two goals.
Southampton’s shooting powder has dampened after a good opening. He hasn’t scored more than once in his last eight games, specifically scoring just four goals in those games.
And it will be difficult against Newcastle, who have the best defence in the league. He has scored only ten goals so far, three of them scored by Manchester City and two by Liverpool.
Considering Southampton’s miserable attack and the excellent spirit and form of the whole away team, I think Newcastle will win. The Magpies are confident now and it will show.
