It didn’t work on the fifth try either. Viktoria Plzeň fell to Inter Milan 0:4 at the San Siro and it is already certain that the spring will not be about them in the European Cup. What did coach Michal Bílek say at the post-match press conference?

Inter Milan were the favourites in the match and confirmed it from the first minutes. However, the first goal was scored in the 35th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored. Then Edin Džeko scored two goals and Romelu Lukaku finished the game with the final 4:0.

“We talked about the openings not working out in the previous games. We held on until the 35th minute, then unfortunately we didn’t keep the opponent’s two raids. It was a shame because we played decently until then.

In the second half Inter showed their great quality,” said Michal Bílek at the press conference, who also praised Džeko, who also played for Teplice in the past.

“Edin Džeko has again confirmed his extravagance. Not only can he score goals and has good finishing skills, but he is also very valid in the midfield. It is very difficult to defend such a player,” he added.

Advancing out of this group would be a real utopia and in the last game Viktoria will only fight for the first point, moreover they don’t want to be the worst team in the Champions League, which unfortunately they are getting closer to.

“Our record looks terrible, but there is no shame that we are playing Champions League. We got here through three difficult preliminary rounds thanks to our efforts. We’re really happy to play it, even at the cost of getting rationed,” Bielek finished.

Before the last game against Barcelona, Viktoria will head to Zlín, then play at home against Sparta Prague, where they can get much closer to the title.
