Unacceptable, unprofessional! Ronaldo overshadowed a great performance by teammates with an angry exit to the dressing room, now he’s facing major criticism
Cristiano Ronaldo is, of course, a football legend. However, his behaviour is not always entirely team-like and professional. An example could be seen in Manchester United’s match against Tottenham on Wednesday, when he overshadowed the great performance of his teammates by leaving the locker room prematurely and angrily.

An example could be seen in Manchester United’s match against Tottenham on Wednesday, when he overshadowed the great performance of his teammates by leaving the locker room prematurely and angrily.
The Red Devils literally ran over Tottenham
Quite possibly one of the best, if not the best, performance Manchester United put in at Old Trafford on Wednesday when they took on a rampant Tottenham side. The 2-0 win, however, was far from the Red Devils’ dominance.
Although the ball possession was fairly even, Erik Ten Hag’s charges included Hugo Lloris with one shot attempt after another. There were 10 shots between the three posts, 28 in total.
The goals were scored by Fred and Bruno Fernandes. However, Cristiano Ronaldo did not get involved in the match, as he was not very collegial.
Ronaldo overshadowed his teammates
Although football is a team game, this was not entirely the case for Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday. Instead of rejoicing at the performance of his teammates and the three points for his team, he decided to leave the substitutes’ bench before the final whistle and went to the dressing rooms.
And that was before the 90th minute, when Manchester United still had two substitutions available. And because this is a star Portuguese, his behaviour is understandably being addressed much more than the Red Devils’ great performance.
The Portuguese has come under heavy criticism
That Ronaldo’s behaviour is being addressed is hardly surprising. But neither is it surprising that the football legend is the target of criticism. And that’s perhaps from all sides, except Erik Ten Hag. The Red Devils coach didn’t want to address that negative after the win. At least not that day.
“I’ll deal with it tomorrow,” he revealed. He wanted to rejoice in the win, not deal with the flip-flop of one of his stars. So Ronaldo can have a very negative effect on the chemistry in the cabin, which can often be the key factor. Experts and football personalities have also taken aim at him.
