Gary Neville: Ronaldo? The club must agree an immediate departure with him or strike a truce and end it all in the winter

Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with Manchester United isn’t exactly optimal. Previously, one of the best players in the world has been sitting on the bench and Garry Neville has called on the Red Devils to allow him to go elsewhere.
While he has been a regular in the Europa League, that is no longer the case in the Premier League. Today, thirty-seven-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is sitting on the bench, something he is not used to.
He didn’t come on for the Tottenham game, leaving the bench before the end and heading into the bowels of the stadium. The coach punished him, he wasn’t even on the bench against Chelsea.
Ronaldo’s relationship with the coach, or the whole club, is definitely not optimal. Moreover, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. This is also why many wondered why he didn’t leave the club in the summer.
“It has to end. Ronaldo has to go somewhere where he will play every weekend,” said Gary Neville, the former United stopper, in an interview with Sky Sports.
“Ronaldo will never accept the role of substitute, which is fine. But the club has to agree with him to leave immediately or make a truce until the World Cup and then end it all,” he added.
One can definitely agree with his words. The player himself will not want to stay in the team and so will probably change his jersey in the winter transfer window.
