This week sees the next round of the Champions League. Some of the biggest names in football are in action, including Barcelona, Tottenham, Liverpool, Inter Milan, PSG, Juventus and Leverkusen with an offensive Czech duo. Last but not least, Napoli and Ajax.
On Wednesday 12 October, from 18:45, the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona between home side Naples and Ajax Amsterdam will take place. This is a clash of teams with very good form.
Naples is currently the leading team in Serie A. In 9 matches, they have collected 23 points. Wednesday’s opponent from the Netherlands is only one point worse off in the same number of games and is second in the domestic competition.
We don’t have to go far to see how they match up. It took place on 4 October and was hosted at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. The home side made a great start to the game when Kudus opened the scoring after just nine minutes of play.
However, that was the end of Ajax’s list of good situations. Not only did Naples manage to turn the game around, but they even outplayed their opponents. Raspadori (twice), Di Lorenzo, Zielinski, Kvaratskhelia and Simeone scored. The final score was 1: 6!
Lots of goals are not an exception for these teams and that’s where I’ll focus my betting tip. If we look at Napoli’s goal average in Serie A, we’ll see a figure of 3.2 per game. In the Champions League, it’s even 5 goals per game.
Ajax are very similar. In the Eredivisie they have an average of 3.9 goals per game and in the Champions League so far 4.7. The only match between the two teams ended 1:6, so that’s an impressive 7 goals!
I believe that in the second match the goals will continue to fall. Both teams will score at least once and the total number of goals in the match will be 3 or more.
