The Czech national football team has played its last two matches in the Nations League against Portugal and Switzerland. The national team did not stay in the elite division of this competition and is relegated to the next level. Which players have nothing to give to the team in the future?

Ondřej Kúdela – defender, 35 years old, Persija Jakarta

His age combined with his new position makes him one of the main candidates to end up in the national team. His speed is no longer sufficient, and he is also playing in a below-average Indonesian league.

It’s true that the Czechs don’t have many alternatives at stopper, but Brabec and Zima could be the first choice in the future. Hopefully, Tomas Kalas will soon clear up his groin injury.

Other candidates are the versatile Václav Jemelka, Jaroslav Zelený or Tomáš Holeš. But the third one is more useful in the middle of the midfield.

Michael Krmencik – forward, 29 years old, Persija Jakarta

The striker currently based in Indonesia last played for the national team almost a year ago. His engagement in Bruges didn’t go well and his restart in Slavia was also inglorious.

He is doing well in the Indonesian league, but the quality of the local league is questionable. In addition, Patrik Schick has an unshakable position in his position. Jan Kuchta or Adam Hložek can also play up front.

The question is how Matěj Vydra will recover from a long injury and where he will play, as his contract at Burnley is over. From the 11, Tomas Cvančara is a good choice.

David Pavelka – midfielder, 31 years old, Sparta

He is quite regular at Sparta, but on the international field against the best teams you need someone more mobile, faster, more dynamic in the centre of midfield.

The ideal candidate is Michal Sadilek, but unfortunately he is currently injured. For Alex Kral, it depends on his playing experience at the club and his form. Also Holeš has shown that he can play in this position.

Besides Tomas Soucek, Lukas Kalvach, the more creative Lukas Provod and Petr Ševčík could also make an appearance. Health problems will hopefully keep Ladislav Krejci out of the picture, and if he puts in consistently good performances for Plzeň, Pavel Bucha could also be a candidate.
