Francis Ngannou is still the UFC champion. Although it is unknown if he will continue in the organization. After all, he is one of the most vocal fighters who criticize the earnings the organization pays its stars. He has now admitted that he has lost millions.
He’s currently recovering from an injury. Before his last title defense, he seriously injured his knee. But he still took the fight with Cyril Gano and won on points. He had to undergo surgery afterwards. You can see in some of his photos how big his scar is.
However, it is still unknown if he will continue in the UFC. While he would be interested in doing so himself, and the organization’s boss Dana White is also interested, Francis Ngannou is one of the fighters who have been vocal in demanding better terms for the organization’s stars.
Just days before the fight, fighter Luke Rockhold called the UFC a mafia. Listening to him, the heavyweight champion had to take to Twitter to comment on how much the organization restricts its fighters.
“Fighters are being robbed of sponsorships. It’s a huge source of revenue for us, but the company constantly uses it to their advantage. We should be entitled to at least two approved cage sponsors,” Ngannou expressed on Twitter.
Beyond that, he admitted that he has been greatly hurt by the UFC’s restriction of depriving fighters of sponsors. This is due to the UFC’s partnership with Crypto.com.
“Last year I lost over a million dollars worth of business from the crypto exchange because of the UFC’s partnership with Crypto.com,” the champion added.
