Fortuna liga: Pardubice want to play in the first league at the new stadium, but they are a relegation candidate

Our favourite Fortuna League will start this weekend and it should offer not only an interesting fight for the title. In our series we are gradually introducing the league teams, now it is the turn of Pardubice, one of the relegation candidates.

The realisation team

The head coach of Pardubice is the fifty-seven-year-old Jiří Krejčí, whose entire coaching career is connected with this club.

His co-coach is Jaroslav Novotný, who is the head coach in league matches thanks to the license Krejčí lacks. He is also assistant to Martin Shejbal.

Goalkeepers

Twenty-nine-year-old Viktor Budínský and twenty-one-year-old Jakub Markovič will fight for the number one position. The former joined the club in the summer when he came from Baník as part of Jan Letáček’s transfer.

The latter is on loan from Slavia in Prague. In the preparation, both of them were given relatively equal chances, however, Markovic started in the dress rehearsal, so he is the favourite. Nicolas Šmíd will be the third in the group.

Defense

On the right side, Jan Halász and Bernard Rosa, whose transfer from English West Ham has not been officially confirmed yet, will fight for the base.

The stopper’s position is not badly settled at all. Experienced Martin Toml should have Tomáš Vlček next to him, whose form of guest or transfer from Slavia is also not officially presented.

Václav Míka in particular will compete with them. The left defence should belong to the new signing Matej Helešic, who has played almost all the games. Dominik Kostka and Václav Svoboda are also in the team.

Backup

In the midfield we can see several league stalwarts such as Emil Tischler, Jan Jeřábek and Kamil Vacek. The latter is not ready yet, but Vacek hasn’t played much in the preparation either.

However, new reinforcements in the form of Dominik Janosek and Michal Hlavaty will definitely be more regularly used. We can also look forward to Tomáš Solil, Sanghyeok Lee, Dominik Mareš, Adam Lupac, Matěj Vít, Samuel Šimek and Vojtěch Sychra.

Attack

Pavel Černý, an experienced veteran, continues to play for the club, as does David Huf. Ondřej Chvěja came as a guest from Baník and Pardubice finally got a big reinforcement in the form of Brazilian Leandro Lima, whose brother Leo Jabá plays for PAOK.
