On Thursday, the seventh round of the Chinese league is on the agenda, with Beijing welcoming Chengdu and if they win, they will be closer to the top of the table. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Beijing have been on a roll in June, they have not lost in five games, winning three of them. Nevertheless, they are only fifth in the table due to their poor start, four points behind third place with a game to spare.
Chengdu, on the other hand, is still waiting for its first win, having lost twice and drawn four times so far and is 15th in the table. They are one point clear of the relegation places.
The home side are relying on goals from Yuning Zhang, the national striker has netted six goals and assisted twice. The team’s captain Dabao Yu is also a mainstay, helping the team with two goals from his position as a stopper.
On the away side, only central midfielder Zhuoyi Feng has more than one goal to his credit, scoring twice. The star of the team is also the experienced Austrian stopper Richard Windbichler, who has played in the Austrian, Danish and American leagues.
Beijing relies on a goal-scoring attack, scoring more than once in three of the last five rounds, and has the third-best offense in the competition overall.
Chengdu, on the other hand, has struggled offensively, scoring more than once only twice in the last six games.
Considering the visitors’ shooting ineptitude, as well as the form of home striker Yuning Zhang, I think Beijing will prevail.
