PSG has found a new coach! The coach who beat them for the title will lead the Parisians

There has been speculation about the sacking of coach Pochettino from the French champion’s squad for a long time. Paris did not have an ideal season, after a year’s break they managed to win the Ligue 1 title, but said goodbye to the Champions League in the eighth round.

There was speculation that he would be replaced pretty much immediately after his elimination from the millionaire competition. The most frequently mentioned name in the media was that of Zinedine Zidane, who had won the Champions League three times with Los Blancos in the past.

This information was eventually refuted by both the French coach and the club. “In the end we decided on another option for the head coach position – the best option for our tactics,” club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told French daily Le Parisien.

He also confirmed that the club is in talks to bring in 55-year-old coach Christophe Galtier: “Galtier? We are in contact with Nice, it’s not a secret. I hope we will find a common agreement soon. ”

Indeed, the French coach is out at Nice as of June 30 and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, he will soon be announced as PSG’s new manager. Apparently, the club has already terminated the contract with Pochettino, who received a fat compensation, and is ready to announce the arrival of a new coach.

Galtier managed to sensationally win the title with Lille OSC in the 2020/21 season when the Parisian’s reign was once again interrupted after several years. Last season, he led OGC Nice, with whom he fought for a long time for the Champions League, but in the end it only made it to the European Conference League. He also previously served as assistant manager at Lyon and Saint-Étienne.
