Prochazka warns UFC’s P4P rankings king ahead of potential fight: You won’t have it as easy as you think

Jiří Procházka has many challenges at his disposal as a welterweight champion. Even the king of the UFC P4P rankings and welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has admitted his interest in this weight division. What does the Moravian fighter have to say about a potential fight with the “Nigerian nightmare”?
When Jiri Prochazka defeated Glover Teixeira in the title bout to win the championship belt, the fight gained a lot of attention. Even the UFC’s biggest stars or their representatives spoke out. For example, Ali Abdelaziz stated that he believed his charge Kamaru Usman would beat both fighters.
And not only that. He said that the reigning welterweight champion would also be able to beat the already former champion Jan Blachowicz. It was Usman who met Blachowicz at the last numbered UFC event, and the two fighters even had a staredown.
Usman himself admitted that he is not interested in the middleweight title, as his friend Israel Adesanya reigns supreme there, and he would like to seek new challenges. And he might just find those in the welterweight division.
“The Nigerian Nightmare” admits that he likes the welterweight division because there are a lot of excellent fighters in it. But he believes he can beat some of the fighters at the top of it.
And what does Prochazka have to say about that? First and foremost, he expressed his respect for Usman, as well as praised his performance. “But if he’s talking about fighting welterweight fighters, I don’t think he’s going to have it as easy as he might think,” Procházka told MiddleEasy.
In addition, the Moravian fighter is now primarily looking to defend his title against someone from his own weight class. “Only then can we talk about similar fights across the scales. I’ m not thinking about it at all yet, but I like challenges and this challenge would definitely be great,” the champion is clear.
Among other things, Procházka noted that he doesn’t believe too much in weight classes. That’s why he doesn’t mind too much that Usman could potentially be lighter. “After all, it’s always about who is the strongest man on the planet. And that’s exactly the kind of fights I look for,” he concluded his statement.
