The famous district team FC Sigma Hodolany advances to the region! Club celebrates its 110th birthday

The oldest Olomouc football club FC Sigma Hodolany confirmed its promotion from the district championship to the 1st B class of the regional competition with a 7:0 victory in Nová Hradečná on Sunday. With the promotion to the higher competition, Sigma Hodolany also celebrates its historical milestone, 110 years since the club was founded.

Almost exactly 110 years ago today, on 6 June 1912, Hodolany famously defeated the reserve team of SK Olomouc 4:2 in their first match at the military training ground near Nový Svět. On Sunday, 5 June 2022, Sigma Hodolany will host Sokol Příkazy from 17:00.

To celebrate the historic anniversary, the Hodolany team has prepared a brochure FC Sigma Hodolany – 110 years of the anniversary of the foundation, which will be on sale for the first time at the match between Hodolany and the team from Příkaz. In addition to a number of historical photographs, you will find out who Hodolany’s black and white jerseys are named after, where the historic pitches used to be, and which famous offspring played for Hodolany.

There will also be a summary of the team’s rebirth in 2015, which was taken care of with a bunch of collaborators by the current chairman Martin Čechovský.

“I’m glad that our promotion to Class 1B has been another step in our football comeback. All the players and the implementation team have done an excellent job. We will celebrate the promotion and the win in the district championship in style and with our 110th anniversary on Sunday.

We managed to prepare a nice historical publication for it, I believe that our excellent fans will like it,” said the chairman of FC Sigma Hodolany Čechovský about the promotion and the publication of the football brochure.

The following team was promoted to the 1st B class: Jiří Zbořil, Jiří Charamza, Radek Charamza, Pavel Mráček, Zdeněk Krajc, David Švancara, Rostislav Nestrojil, Tomáš Alka, Jakub Kaczmarczyk, Marek Heinz, Jiří Šrom, Jiří Linhart, Radim Študent, Patrik Pospíšil, Michal Koutný, Michal Spáčil, Marek Fiala, Petr Sládek, Vladimír Bojkovský, David Dočkal, Vlastimil Fiala, Filip Dohnálek, Martin Konvička, Marek Duba, Jan Wenzel and coach Milan Kovařík.
