Czech Republic vs. Spain: preview and betting tips

The Czech national team will be fighting to keep their first place in their Nations League group on Sunday, welcoming a strong Spain, who drew with Portugal at the start of the competition. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?

Despite not qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar, the Czech Republic’s performances are on the up. After reaching the quarter-finals at Euro 2020, the Czechs beat the Swiss 2-1 in their opening game of the Nations League group stage and are top of the table.

The Spaniards have traditionally qualified for the World Cup and anything worse than a quarter-final finish in the second group game will be considered a failure. They only drew with Portugal in their opening game, so they will take nothing but three points in Eden.

Jan Kuchta shone in the Czech national team’s opening game, the Lokomotiv Moscow striker scoring his first goal for the national team. The midfield is also working well, with the pair of Tomas Soucek and Michal Sadilek getting on well and complementing each other.

In the Spanish jersey, Mikel Oyarzabal is worth mentioning, he scored fifteen goals and assisted three times for Sociedad. The rejuvenated national team also relies on Barcelona midfielders Gavi and Pedri, with offensive all-rounder Ferran Torres being a constant.

The Czechs are coming off a poor autumn, winning three of their last five games, losing only to Sweden in the World Cup barrage.

However, the Czechs will have a tough time against the Spanish, having scored only twice in their last seven games.
