Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný was planning to participate in the UFC 275 tournament, where Jiří Procházka will also appear in the title fight. He was supposed to shoot videos and bring interesting content, but in the end his accreditation was revoked by the organization. Why?
As part of his MMA Flying Around the World video podcast, Ondrej Novotny informed his fans that he was supposed to be in Singapore for UFC 275. His task was to bring interesting news from the environment of this tournament.
“I was called to arms by the main partner of Jiri Prochazka and Joanna Jedrzejczyk to cover the UFC Singapore tournament and to bring on their behalf all the news, information, interviews with Jiri Prochazka, coach Karaivanov, Jaroslav Hovezak, Joanna, Glover, his team and so on,” Novotny said during the live broadcast.
“I have been granted accreditation by the UFC, for which I thank Telly/Premier Sport, who own the rights to the broadcast. Everything was fine, and then all of a sudden the UFC somehow decided that I was a glitch because of being the main face of the Octagon. They pulled my accreditation. So I said ok, I guess I’m not going to ask anybody,” he added.
He then added that he would have gotten to most of the people he wanted to interview, but not the likes of Texeira, who Procházka will be fighting. So he decided to step away from the trip.
It’s a great shame for the UFC. I don’t want to spit under my feet in any way, but I don’t think there’s anyone else out there that would be able to spit out that much content and that would have a hell of a viewership,” Novotny finished.
UFC 275 is scheduled for this Saturday – June 11. We’ll see Jiri Prochazka’s fight in the Czech Republic in the early morning hours, expected around 6:00.
