Patrik Schick is starting to get back to his pre-injury form. The 26-year-old striker scored twice against Frankfurt, but only the second goal was conceded. As a result, Leverkusen remain third with a three-point lead.

Patrik Schick returned from injury in April and is gradually getting back to the form he was in at the start of the year. He scored his first against Fürth, which he followed up on Monday.

Bayer hosted Eintracht Frankfurt, the 11th Bundesliga team and Europa League semi-finalist, who are close to reaching the final thanks to an away win at West Ham.

They are no longer focusing on the league and it showed. Leverkusen were the better side and took the lead in the 18th minute after a goal from 21-year-old Brazilian Paulinho.

In the 34th minute, the home side could have led 2-0, Schick made his way to the edge of the box after a good pass and swept the crossbar with his right foot.

Unfortunately, the goal was preceded by an offside and could not be awarded. However, the Czech goal scorer did score.

In the 51st minute he asked for the ball in the penalty area, Moussa Diaby passed it to him and Schick scored again with his weaker foot. The assistant referee raised the flag, but the video eventually showed that there was no offside.

Leverkusen are now in third place with a three-point lead over fourth-placed Freiburg and are close to playing in the Champions League next season.
