American fighter Pannie Kianzad has her seventh fight in the UFC under her belt. After she won it, a picture of her laughing with a bloody face and missing teeth went around the combat sports world. Reactions to the photo prompted her to comment on the whole situation.
Pannie Kianzad has already had seven fights in the UFC, losing only twice, and is currently ranked twelfth in the bantamweight division, but with her latest win she is undoubtedly due for a move up.
She was able to defeat Lina Linsberg, who is one position ahead of her in the rankings. It is therefore expected that they will at least exchange positions.
The fight ended with Kianzad winning on points, she lived up to her nickname “Banzai”. After the fight, however, a picture of her with a bloody face and missing teeth was circulated around the martial arts world.
The photo understandably sparked controversy, with some people reinforcing the claim that women should not wrestle. The American then made her views on the situation clear on social media.
“I want to be clear. I’ve been toothless for about four years now, I only show it during wrestling days because I believe I’m the cutest toothless person,” Kianzad says.
To add to that, she asked that no more dentists text her in private messages, which understandably amused fans.
